See you in the Fall
Hope everyone has a good summer. We have basil and mint still for sale but thought we’d disable the ordering for now. NEWS!! We plan to start a Fresh Produce Market on Busch Blvd and 20th street in Tampa any weekend now. 110,000 cars pass by there every day! We are thinking about Thursday -Sunday. We’d like to have a big tent so people don’t have to buy their own canopy and bother with the hassle of loading/unloading it in their cars, setting it up and breaking it down! Anybody who has produce, homemade items, baked goods to sell, please contact us to see if you can be a vendor. I think the regular cost will be $10/day. You don’t have to be there all 4 days a week. It will be cheaper if you rent a space for the whole month. As we are building up the number of customers who come to the market, we will have an even lower promotional rate for the first few months too!
We’ll send you an email when AO Market is up and running again.
No Brandon Wellness Works Market June 11th
I’m off to a training in Orlando this week. See you next week, God willing.
No Markets May 24th
So sorry….car broke down (in Gainesville)...no way to get produce to market. We plan to come Saturday May 31st for the last St. Pete Market though.
Brandon Saturday Market is Closed for Summer
No more pickups in Brandon on Saturday for the summer—just too hot for the vendors and vegetables. BUT if there is enough interest, we’d be glad to deliver your order to Brandon Wellness Works on Wednesdays. 2 pm to 5:30 or so.
I think we plan to bring our lettuce and herbs to St. Pete Market for its last 3 Saturdays but we don’t plan to order certified organic food unless orders warrant it. This Market closes May 31st for the summer!
Normally certified organic blueberries come from far away places and cost about $4.75 per 4 oz. but right now is our local blueberry season! They spoil quickly so we are freezing them. If you want local frozen certified organic blueberries at a fantastic price (1 pound for $10), let us know how many pounds you want!!

Proud Mom
What's grown locally -end April
Greens – lettuce, herbs, cabbage, kale! Strawberries – Most of the big harvesting is done. Usually super-ripe and really sweet, perfect for jams & jellies, or add a little sugar and freeze. Cucumbers – just coming into their own . Low-seed pickling varieties and bigger ones. Rhubarb -I love to eat these sweet-tart stalks straight out of the fridge, or make a great pie with some late-season strawberries. Grapefruit – Some will be available through summer, but April is end of season for most. Buy a bunch and juice! Valencias – These (often) seedless wonders are just hitting the market-great for juicing. Potatoes – Don’t grow a lot of these around here, but FL potatoes are sweeter than others. Tomatoes – Prime time for Ruskin’s finest -roma, red, yellow. Sweet corn, Beans and Peppers. Blueberries – Ripe and ready. Put ‘em in muffins, or toss in your morning cereal. To order go to www.ao.locallygrown.net or email aquaorganics@gmail.com
No Lakeland Saturday Market April 19th
So sorry—it looks like Joe won’t be there this Saturday—emergency down in Miami. If you need vegetables, we could work out a delivery on Sunday. Just let us know in the Comments section. See you April 26
Thank you!
I want to thank all of you who have brought your own “permanent” shopping bags to market! We have been recycling our plastic bags for those who forget. I am working on a presentation for Earth Day for one of the middle schools and I learned these horrible facts about plastic bags. 200,000 plastic bags are dumped in landfills every hour..but some fly away into trees and 100,000 birds, whales, seals and whales are killed each year, when they eat plastic things. And it takes a really long time to decompose too! So if you have plastic bags you want us to recycle, bring us those. if you have to hang up a sign on your door to remind you to bring your own shopping bag, let’s do it! Have you ordered for this week? I’ll be finished updating products by Tuesday night or Wed morning! ao.locallygrown.net
